After graduating in architectural studies, I took two-years employment with a Glasgow based architectural firm to build professional experience in domestic, conservation and community centre design sector, as I tend to focus my expertise toward domestic architecture. During my time with the firm, I worked on numerous projects on both community centres and social housing project around Glasgow settings. Applying the specific building standards such as; ‘The Glasgow Standards’ and the general design guide like ‘The Housing for Varying Needs’. Beside the two documents mentioned, I also used the Technical handbook, Building Standard, the PAN 68 (Planning Advice Note 68), IPG 1 (the Interim Planning Guidance 1) and etcetera as the benchmark for the designs, and as well as many others, specifically for calculating the areas of house types and occupancies. The below images are some of the projects I participated in during the 24 months of working in the firm.
